Kanye West pulled double duty this weekend, as he followed up an unexpected Friday treat with an appearance on Saturday Night Live. Good thing too, because SNL needs all the help it can get these days, but that’s a topic for another day. As it specifically relates to West, the Chicago MC was his usual self, dropping performances that can best be described as spectacles. “Power” saw West offer a reworked version of the track — the SNL hatin’ was edited out in favor of a verse reportedly from “Chain Heavy” — amidst a real-life replication of the song’s moving portrait. Then, for “Runaway”, Ye recreated his VMA performance — Pusha T, real-time sampling, ballerinas, and a whole lot of bleeps included.
Relive both performances below. Also, courtesy of Your Audio Fix, you can grab a mp3 stream of the reworked “Power”.
