Admit it. You had all of the lyrics to “Teenage Dream” memorized two weeks ago, didn’t you? That’s okay because we did too. Well, if you’re getting sick of getting a perfect score every single time you karaoke to Katy Perry’s hit single, then the newly minted Mrs. Russell Brand has a brand-spanking new nugget of sonic catchiness for your mind to consume.

Just check out “Firework”. It’s the latest single from Perry’s third studio album – Teenage Dream – and the four-minute clip (via Gigwise) is something to behold. Perry sent a Twitter message dedicating the clip to the nation’s only 24-hour, toll free, suicide hotline for gay and questioning youth, and while the video does have an inspirational message, it’s kind of hard to take seriously at first.

The video opens with the 26-year-old pop starlet clad in an evening gown, walking onto a balcony, and singing, “Do you ever feel/feel so paper thin/like a house of cards/one blow from caving in?” Adding to the gloomy feeling are various scenes of teens in distress playing in the background, but the 45-second mark brings a very abrupt change as sparks start flying from Perry’s chest as she exclaims that, “…there’s a spark in you/you gotta ignite the light/and let it shine.”

Despite the temporary awkwardness of the scene, the video does end up being delivering on it’s inspirational message as the plot’s protagonists end up conquering everything that is making them glum. The whole shebang culminates in one big dance party in the square where everyone’s got pyrotechnics shooting out of their ribcages.

Check out the video in all of it’s blazing glory below. You may spontaneously combust; so just don’t forget the fire extinguisher.
