“A Parting Glass with The Pogues” tour heading to U.S.

Celtic folk legends The Pogues have announced their “A Parting Glass with The Pogues” tour. Yes, sadly, after a nine year reunion, it looks like Shane MacGowan and Co. are finally calling it… wait, never mind. Their new tour may sound like a retirement tour, but the band has given no indication that this is the case. Instead, U.S. fans can take joy in the knowledge that this six-city trek happening next March is not their last opportunity to see the Irish musicians.

So which are the six lucky locations? Well, they’re all on on the eastern half of the country. The Pogues will be visiting Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Boston, and New York (in that order), with only the last three cities getting more than one show. They’ll kick things off on March 3rd and end on March 17th, which they’ve renamed “St. James Cagney Day.” Looks like someone’s been watching The Public Enemy!

The news comes after The Pogues announced a UK tour with an easily misinterpreted title. The band’s “Final Christmas Tour” isn’t a farewell trek. Instead, according to band co-founder Peter “Spider” Stacy, it’s “the last Christmas tour for the foreseeable future.”

Tickets for U.S. dates are now available via Ticketmaster.
