Most would agree one of the best features of Guitar Hero 3 are the boss battles against actual musicians like Tom Morello and Slash. Somehow, doing battle against the redheaded dreadlocks of Axl Rose doesn’t inspire quite as much fear. In a lawsuit that’s about, I don’t know, three years too late, Rose is suing the game’s maker for daring to make any connection between Guns and Roses’ ex guitarist and the band’s music, Reuters reports.
Rose’s $20 million dollar lawsuit against Activision supposedly stems from a deal in which Activism agreed not to use the likeness of Saul Hudson (aka Slash) alongside GnR’s playable song “Welcome to the Jungle”. Needless to say, Rose wasn’t too amused when he had to fight Slash as a boss and the song was still right there in the setlist.
“This lawsuit is about protecting Guns N’ Roses and ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ and is about holding Activision accountable for its misuse of these incredibly valuable assets,” Rose’s lawyer said. Personally, it sounds a little more like complete and utter bitterness than anything. Especially since Rose seems to be a little sue happy as it stands. In fact, if I were to sue Activision, it’d be over making the boss fight against Lou such a pain in the goddamn ass. Cheating computer bastard…
