Sure, Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights” may take the cake for the song with the most impressive list of cameos, but we’re going to go ahead and give props to Travis Barker for the song “Carry It”, which happens to feature RZA, Raekwon, and Tom Morello, of his upcoming solo LP, Give the Drummer Some (via Some Kind Of Awesome). Sorry, no Elton John, though.
The whole rap-rock thing is usually pretty hit or miss, but if you’ve got RZA and Raekwon spitting their unique flows over some fairly steady drumming and a jagged, expressive guitar, then maybe that marriage can work after all. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Barker and Morello understand the company they’re in and do their best to make the MCs shine as the most booming element on the track. That and saying the line “My UZI weighs a ton, son. Carry it” makes even us feel badass.
