Iconic rock guitarist Jeff Beck is a musician’s musician. With his bluesy licks and trademark style, the British axeman has been influencing players for over 45 years. Releasing his 17th solo album, Emotion & Commotion, earlier this year, Beck is now ready to head out on the road next year for the “Rock and Roll Party to Honor Les Paul“ mini-tour with Irish rockabilly songstress Imelda May and her band. The choice of backing band comes as no surprise as Ms. May and company held it down with Beck in June at a tribute show for late musician and inventor of the Gibson guitar, Les Paul. Catch Beck and friends live beginning on March 24th in Washington, DC, with dates running through the beginning of April.
In other Jeff Beck-related news, if you weren’t one of the lucky few able to attend the Les Paul tribute gig, fear not. You’ll have something to watch while you’re coming out of your food coma next weekend. PBS will be airing a special broadcast tonight, November 27th. For fans who want to add the performance to their Jeff Beck collections, CD and DVD versions will be hitting stores on February 22nd via Eagle Rock Entertainment.
