Bad news for those hoping November 22nd would be the last day we heard from Kanye West. Along with his currently ongoing G.O.O.D. Friday mp3 series, which is set to run until Christmas eve, West is also working with Jay-Z on a collaborative album titled Watch the Throne, and as he told New York radio station Hot 97 last night, the two rappers have their eyes set on a February 2011 release.
According to West, the duo have already completed eight tracks, with the previously unveiled jams “Monster”, the “Power” remix, “So Appalled”, and “The Joy” among those included. They spent the last week working together at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Box Wiltshire, England. The record will be released through his current (and Jay’s former) label, Def Jam, and will be proceeded by its unannounced first single on January 1st, 2011, aka New Years Day. (Speaking of holidays, I’d just like to point out that with the aforementioned news, Kanye will make appearances in three of America’s forthcoming holidays. He’s also playing the Macy’s Day Parade on Thanksgiving. So much for off days.)
It goes with out saying at this point, but we’ll post additional details as they become available.
