Paul McCartney to play exclusive show at Apollo Theater

Paul McCartney playing the Apollo Theater already sounds like a rather exclusive event. But for some people, it may be impossible to attend the concert. To celebrate reaching 20 million subscribers, SiriusXM will sponsor the concert and give away tickets only to its paying listeners. In other words, if you’re not one of the 20 million subscribers, you will be left in the proverbial dust. If you do subscribe, you have a chance (albeit a small one) to win the sweepstakes for the show on December 14th.

For those of you with SiriusXM who don’t win tickets, there’s still a consolation prize. McCartney’s concert will be broadcast in its entirety on a new month-long channel called Paul McCartney’s Band on the Run Radio. The channel will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album, hosted by Macca himself, as well as newly discovered live performances of Wings tracks recorded at Abbey Road Studios from The Paul McCartney Archive. Sounds like SiriusXM is getting its money’s worth on this deal.

Tickets aren’t the only things that you can win in this sweepstakes. One extremely lucky grand prize winner will win a paid trip to New York for four people, two nights lodging, four tickets to the concert, a subscription to “Everything Plus The Best Of” Sirius or XM in a Lifetime Plan, good for the lifetime of your radio, and an autographed copy of the just-released Band on the Run Deluxe Edition box set. Oh, they’ll also have a chance to guest DJ on McCartney’s new radio channel.
