To finish out the year, School of Seven Bells are playing a December 2nd hometown show with fellow New Yorkers The Walkmen. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, then perhaps their recently revealed dates with another mega-popular indie band will. The indie shoegazers (yep, that’s a genre) will hit the road as support for the US portion of Interpol’s previously announced tour beginning January of next year. They will do so without singer Alejandra Deheza’s twin sister Claudia, who recently parted ways with the group for personal reasons.
The duo that remains will start the 2011 winter trek in Vancouver on January 27th. A total of 14 shows will bring them all over North America, including Seattle, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Toronto before finishing up on February 19th in Boston at the House of Blues.
In other SVIIB news (that’s the roman numeral 7, for anyone not catching on), their video for “I L U” recently premiered on TheFader.com. Featuring both marionette ‘sex’ and cardiectomy, the evocative images and cinematography only contribute to one truly haunting breakup song. Due to a brief bare breast shot, we’re gonna label this NSFW – though not nearly this NSFW.
