As if you’ve fallen into a bad sci-fi movie, the music video black hole is where the competing forces of sonic and visual gravity and magnetism draw you into your (gleefully accepted) doom. Above is the video for Spoon‘s “Nobody gets Me But You”. Beneath is Gorillaz‘s video for “Doncamatic (All Played Out)”. The first features a rather straightforward concept of Spoon playing NYC’S Cake Shop shot to look like surveillance-style camera footage. The other features the meta-esque journey of guest singer Daley as he makes his way to the Plastic Beach album cover in his shiny disco submarine. Two very different concepts, but one chance for you to get squashed into an infinite singularity of sheer musical splendor.
