So take it for what it’s worth, but as per the Google’s translation of Zach de la Rocha’s recent interview with Spanish Chilean newspaper La Tercera, we could be getting a new Rage Against of the Machine album soon.
For the sake of making your own judgment, here’s de la Rocha’s much-talked about quote — translated into English by Google — via RATM fansite DownRodeo.org:
Q. The band is back together in 2007, how was this second life?
A. Very good, we are all bigger and mature and you do not fall into the problems we faced 10 or 15 years. This is different and we project a lot: we are working on a new album due out next year, perhaps for the northern hemisphere summer.
If a new record were to come to fruition, it’d be the group’s first since 1999’s The Battle of Los Angeles. That said, since reuniting in 2007, Rage members have downplayed the possibility of new material, opting instead to just play kickass live shows. Either way, we’ll keep you updated.
