It doesn’t appear Lauryn Hill is ready to make a full-fledged return, but it’s nice to see some signs of life. The long-dormant neo-soul queen has booked some tour dates, however sparse (via Billboard). Good news for anyone who didn’t want to throw down for Rock the Bells or other fests last summer. However, if you’re not on the East Coast it looks like it will be a wait.
Ms. Hill is scheduled to play in Boston December 20th, followed by three New York shows — one at the Highline Ballroom, one at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, and a New Year’s Day Bowery Ballroom show. To end January, Hill will stop by Atlantic City for a gig at the House of Blues. Then in March, Hill will make two appearances at Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens Fest.
The ex-Fugees star was also apparently supposed to play a show in Burlington, Vermont later this week, but plans are postponed indefinitely. Bummer, Burlington — enjoy the four-hour drive. Update: She’s also booked to play New Haven, CT on December 22nd, as well as three dates at the Blue Note in NYC from January 3-5.
Tickets are available, as usual, at Seatgeek.
