Anacortes, WA natives The Lonely Forest have been heating up Seattle’s indie rock scene ever since winning the city’s Experience Music Project contest in 2006. Along the way, Death Cab For Cutie guitarist Chris Walla took notice and signed the quartet as the first act on his label, Trans Records, earlier this year. Now, after releasing The Lonely Forest EP digitally in September via Trans, The Lonely Forest have announced plans for their debut LP, Arrows. Walla, for one, couldn’t be happier, as made evident in recent statements to the press: “The Lonely Forest proves to me . . . that nothing can beat a focused, bulletproof guitar rock band with amazing songs. I didn’t start a label for nothing.”
Arrows is scheduled for release on March 22nd via Trans Records. Above, you can stream the video for the lead single, “Turn Off This Song and Go Outside”, which first appeared on The Lonely Forest EP. No other track listings have been confirmed thus far, but keep checking back for more album information. The Lonely Forest also have plans to hit the road in 2011 and will announce tour dates in the near future.
