Wrapping up his North American tour, Peter Hook uncorked Unknown Pleasures this past weekend in, not only San Francisco, but Los Angeles, as well. While the Bay Area appreciated what was nothing more than a fun romp in nostalgia, the City of Angels’ show turned into a night with the stars. Well, what else would you expect in that city?

Joining Hook on-stage, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell assumed the identity of Ian Curtis for a quick cover of “Transmission”, one of the English outfit’s most popular singles. While admittedly thrilling to see the two hammer out the song, the sexy swirls that Farrell adds to the end of each verse come off as just a tad awkward. Still, what’s to complain about? This is essentially a “Remember When…” at best and for those lucky patrons in Los Angeles, they walked out having seen something truly rare. Kudos to them.

By the way, if you missed it, we spoke to Hook a couple of weeks back.
