Arcade Fire to play for 60,000 at London's Hyde Park

European readers that may be upset about not being able to come stateside and watch Arcade Fire do their thing at Coachella and JazzFest actually have nothing to worry about. The indie-rock giants are already debuting their Spike Jonze-directed short film – Scenes From the Suburbs – in Berlin next month, but Spinner is reporting that another big event is being added to the band’s overseas itinerary.

LiveNation has officially confirmed that Win Butler & co. will headline London’s Hyde Park on June 30th. Hometown boys, Mumford & Sons, will play support alongside Beirut and The Vaccines, and with tickets priced at under £50 (roughly $80), the show should prove to be well worth the money.

The last time Arcade Fire headlined a venue in the UK, it was the 23,000-seat O2 Arena. Hyde Park – which is roughly ten miles away from O2 – can accommodate 60,000 bodies, so it’s safe to say that this is definitely an upgrade. Cash-strapped Americans who can’t make that flight will just have to enjoy seeing whether the band can nab one of the three Grammys that they’ve been nominated for, and hang on for webcasts and YouTube videos.

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 28th at 9:00 AM GMT (4:00 AM EST) and are available here. Arcade Fire’s full schedule is available below.
