Basement Jaxx to score sci-fi film, Attack the Block

Trent Reznor might have a stranglehold on scores for future David Fincher films, but if you’re looking for a really hot trend, then check this out. Four of the electco music’s biggests acts have or are in the process of creating movie/theatre scores. Obviously, we all know about Daft Punk, and we’ve also told you that Underworld is scoring a new Frankenstein musical and that The Chemical Brothers provided the sounds for the forthcoming film Hanna. Now, per The Playlist, we learn of Basement Jaxx’s involvement in the sci-fi film Attack the Block.

Directed by Joe Cornish and starring Nick Frost, the film is about a teen gang in South London (hoodies) who must defend their block from an alien invasion. There aren’t many details on Basement Jaxx’s contribution, but we should learn more as the film’s April 8th release date approaches.
