While you might be familiar with Stones Throw Records, you might not be too familiar with its series of podcast mixtapes. Spun together by various members of the label, it’s a chance for the independent label to preview new tracks and build much-needed hype. For the 64th installment, label founder Peanut Butter Wolf breaks us off, amongst other things, snippets of two new Madvillain (MF Doom and Madlib) tracks in the form of “Avalanche Lap/Victory Lap” (via Gorilla Vs. Bear), which you can check out below. No word yet on when the official full-length cuts will be released, but rumor is that they’ll be included on the next Madvillain LP, slated to hit stores sometime this year. And while you’re at it, make sure to check out the rest of the 50-minute podcast here, with samples and tracks from the likes of Mayer Hawthorne, The Stepkids, and Dam-Funk.
