Check Out: More new Glassjaw, "Gold"

Holy crap, they’ve done it again. Glassjaw, the band of Long Island misfits, have shrugged off their status as post-hardcore’s Chinese democrats and are actually releasing new music. It’s only been two weeks since they released their singles EP Our Color Green, which features recordings of tracks previously only heard live. Now, a month away from the launch of their first tour in almost half a decade, they’ve released a genuinely new, never-before-heard song. Arise, great beast, indeed.

Entitled “Gold,” the song is slightly different from what was on most of Our Color Green. The familiar hectic guitars are replaced by an almost steady stream of furious strumming. Heavy drums and bass relentlessly propel the song forward as Daryl Palumbo’s distinctive voice breaks glass with its heights. Hear the track at the band’s website or by using the Soundcloud widget below.

The quartet hit the road February 13th starting in Philly. According to their website (see thumbnail to right), concert attendees will have the chance to get another new EP at no cost. That’s more new Glassjaw music – for free. What’s more, the EP, Coloring Book, apparently shares its name with their upcoming third full-length, their first since 2002. Couple all this with an expected Coachella showing, and these guys are officially back. Tickets for the tour can be found at the band’s site as part of some sweet city-exclusive poster packages.
