Check Out: The Gaslight Anthem's acoustic version of "Boxer"

New Brunswick, NJ rockers The Gaslight Anthem wear their Bruce Springsteen influence proudly on their sleeves, and a recently-surfaced acoustic take on “Boxer” only further drives this home. The original track appears on the quartet’s third record American Slang with a more upbeat tempo and driving rhythm, but fans are really treated to something special with this alternate version made available by Banquet Records. Stripped down to little more than guitarist/frontman Brian Fallon’s gravelly voice and staccato guitar, the acoustic track completely changes the dynamic found in the studio recording to something more akin to an outtake from Nebraska. The Boss would be proud.
