Whether you like it or not, Melisa Youngs über-catchy songs have probably been stuck in your head once or twice before. The 30-year-old dance-floor femme-cee (better known as Kid Sister ) burst into your consciousness when she released “Pro Nails” with Kanye West two years ago and hasnt looked back since. She released her debut LP, Ultraviolet, just over a year ago, and if that sonic snack is starting to get a little stale to you, then youll be glad to know that the Young has had a little something cooking up for you this whole time.
The Chicagoist has revealed that her new mixtape, Kiss Kiss Kiss, will be released via Fools Gold Records today. K3 is set to be a collection of the Chicago-based Youngs past collaborations with a few new freestyles thrown in, and the man behind the mix is Brooklyn resident, and Fools Gold co-founder, Nick Catchdubs. You can get taste of the mixtapes Afrojack-produced title track at Discobelle, or download the whole damn thing here.
Kid Sister will play a string of European dates in the fall, but if you cant wait until September, then head to The South where shell support of Montreal on a handful of tour stops this month starting with todays show at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, Ala.
