If you’ve been relying on your copy of the Dropkick Murphys‘ latest live disc – Live On Lansdowne – to get you through the band’s seemingly infinite studio sabbatical, then we’ve got some good news for you. Punknews reports that the Boston-based, shamrock-loving punks are set to release brand new material on March 1st.
The 13-track effort, titled Going Out In Style, is the group’s seventh LP and the first nugget of new music since 2007’s The Meanest of Times. Although bassist Ken Casey is the only founding member left, the album should be more than enough to satiate the thirsts of Dropkick Murphy fans dying to lose ten pounds of sweat inside of a swirling circle pit.
Said fans will have plenty of opportunities to do so, too. In addition to a month-long “St. Patty’s Day Tour” with Against Me!, the seven-piece has already booked 40 dates for themselves. They’ll be overseas for the entire month of April, have the scheduled the summer off (maybe some stateside festivals are in order?), and then head to Germany for a handful of dates in August.
