Holy Ghost! is one of those groups you probably saw on 250 different lineups and bills last year, yet they still don’t have full-length LP to their name. That’s going to change this spring, though, as the band prepares to drop their self-titled debut record via DFA Records on April 5th.
When it comes to the actual album, there aren’t many details available at the moment. We do know, however, that the production duo of Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser is involved, so be ready for a mix of vintage synth sounds with the addition of an undeniable pop edge. The album will also feature a slew of awesome guests, including The Juan MacLean, late drummer Jerry Fuchs, The Rapture’s Luke Jenner, Penguin Prison’s Chris Glover, and motherfuckin’ Michael McDonald. YES!
For now, you can listen to the New Wave-influenced lead single “Do It Again” below. And just for kicks, we also included one of our favorite Michael McDonald clips. Kick ass.
