If youve ever tuned into Jimmy Kimmel Live! to watch an artist play music for ol Jimmy Kimbel, then you know how many commercials one has to sit through to get to the good stuff, and even though 127 Hours does look like a good movie, nobody wants to watch the 30-second TV spot 30 times. So while you were sleeping, we suffered through it and are here to tell you that despite receiving less than stellar reviews (and a few good ones) for their latest LP, the Cold War Kids still do pretty well in the live setting.
Playing in front in front of their hometown crowd for the one of the first times since Mine Is Yours dropped on Tuesday, Nathan Willet & co. took to the Bud Light stage and played Louder Than Ever from one of our most important albums of 2011. Jonnie Russell has kept the Kids jangly guitar sound intact, and despite the more upbeat nature of the bands new songs, Matt Mausts bass is still as ominous as ever. Check out the video above, and if youre feeling saucy, then you can watch the boys playing Royal Blue too. If you like what you see, also be sure to catch the band on one their upcoming tour stops. Tickets are available here.
