It’s hard to believe that an album from 2001 is almost ten years old, but few artists could be more happy about having a release fitting that bill than Pete Yorn. The New Jersey native’s highly-successful debut LP, musicforthemorningafter, gained him critical acclaim and a devoted fan base over the past decade. Why not commemorate that achievement with a 10th anniversary special edition?
Scheduled for release on March 22nd via Sony, the 2-CD set will feature the original album version of musicforthemorningafter, as well as another disc with some extra goodies including four rare and previously unreleased tracks. The gem of the bonus disc is the full audio of Yorn’s live performance on Santa Monica’s KCRW radio station the day the album was released (March 27th, 2001). The 10th anniversary set is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com, so head on over for a chance to get your hands on a copy.
To support the anniversary release, Yorn will be trekking across the country and taking Ben Kweller and The Wellspring along for the ride as openers. The tour begins in Tempe, AZ on Valentine’s Day and hits some major cities on both coasts before winding down in Atlanta, GA on April 22nd.
