Queens of the Stone Age to reissue debut album on March 1st

It’s been a whirlwind of the past 48 hours for Queens of the Stone Age fans who pre-ordered the reissue of the band’s self-titled debut. Originally announced for November 26th, the reissue was then delayed until January 11th. When fans awoke last Tuesday, however, they were greeted by a tweet from Ipecac Recordings announcing that the reissue had been “cancelled on our end.”

It appears the latest delay was the result of some last minute label shuffling, as the band’s imprint, Rekords Rekords, has announced a new partnership with Domino Records. Domino will aid in the “marketing, promoting and distributing” of select titles from the Rekords Rekords’ catalog, with the first release coming in the form of the reissue of the band’s self-titled debut. A March 1st release date has been set for the U.S., with the U.K. scheduled to receive it one week later on March 7th.

According to an issued statement, the reissue has been fully remastered from the original tapes and has been expanded by three tracks. “The Bronze” & “These Aren’t the Droids Your Looking For” — from the 1998 split EP — and “Spiders and Vinegaroons”, which was part of the posthumous Kyuss/QOTSA split EP. The reissue will be available on CD, double vinyl, and via digital download.
