While the Gorillaz are the reigning champs of releasing a boatload of music over a short amount of time, we think renowned DJ and producer RJD2 has a pretty good shot at taking the crown in 2011. With a free EP available now and upcoming releases from himself and The Insane Warrior, 2011 could be big for the man from Philadelphia, PA. Your move, Mr. Albarn.
The EP, entitled The Glow Remixes, features remixes of “The Glow”, off 2010’s The Colossus, by Paolo Palazzo, DJ duo Flosstradamus, and Candy Panther, each created to please a different kind of hip-hop/electro fan. Exclusive through Bandcamp, you can get your hands on the EP right here.
RJD2’s label, RJ’s Electrical Connections, is also offering pre-order deals on two upcoming efforts involving the turntable mastermind. The first is We Are The Doorways, a record from label signee The Insane Warrior. Once again exclusive through Bandcamp, fans can pre-order the album here before it drops February 1st.
The second pre-order is a limited edition deluxe package comprised of We Are the Doorways, RJD2’s 2002-2010 vinyl box set (which includes Deadringer LP, The Horror EP, Since We Last Spoke LP, and the Tin Foil Hat EP), The Colossus LP, and a signed silkscreen poster.
