While The Decemberists aren’t exactly the first band you think of when discussing technological innovations, the Colin Meloy-led outfit will be utilizing one of the web’s most popular new toys to help celebrate yesterday’s release of The King is Dead. At 3:00pm EST, the band will be perform an hour-long set, which will serve as the first opportunity for fans to see songs from the new album performed live. The performance will take place before an intimate audience at the OPB’s studio in the quintet’s hometown of Portland, Oregon. The program can be viewed at NPR’s official website.
