We here at CoS have seen some pretty impressive tour lineups in our day. Most, though, make sense (i.e., Wavves and Best Coast). However, we’re marking this next outing as one of the most peculiar pairings we’ve seen in quite sometime: Texas psych rockers …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead are hitting the road with Florida surf rock revivalists Surfer Blood for a set of dates in May 2011 (via Pitchfork). Sophomore slump, what?!
The two bands will play a total of 13 dates in North America, starting April 29th at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. From there, they’ll make stops in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, and beyond before concluding back in the Big Apple with a May 13th performance at the Brooklyn Bowl. Find all confirmed tour dates below.
Along with the dates, both bands are also gearing up for new releases. Trail of Dead’s new album, Tao of the Dead, hits stores March 8th via the band’s Richter Scale Records. Surfer Blood, on the other hand, recently signed with Warner Bros. Records and will release a new EP, I’m Not Ready, on April 5th.
