Although the day was also pretty significant around here, January 11th, 2011 will prove an important day in the history of Cage The Elephant. Yesterday, the Kentucky quintet not only celebrated the release of their sophomore album Thank You, Happy Birthday (which hit number one on iTunes), but they also made their second appearance on Letterman. Hell, they even got to play two songs. Above, watch Cage the Elephant tackle their single “Shake Me Down”, while below is the online bonus performance of “Around My Head”. Both offerings were loud and guitar heavy with moments of synth-provided clarity — basically what we’ve come to expect from the group.
