It’s been a pretty impressive half-year for the musician known as Cloud Nothings. Following his signing with Carpark Records, 18-year-old Dylan Baldi released a collection of tracks called Turning On last October and is now gearing up for the release of the project’s self-titled debut, set to drop January 25th. If that weren’t enough, Dylan is also planning another trip to Austin’s South by Southwest, readying a tour and 7″ split with labelmate Toro y Moi, and he has just released a live video for the track “Should Have”. We wonder what Baldi could do with a whole year’s time.
Baldi and his backing band continue to culminate the lazy summer day sound of their debut with “Should Have”. It’s the same kind of angsty feelings of regret, powered by a blast of guitars and some pretty solid drumming, as Baldi lets rip his teenage sadness. If Turning On hit the sweet spot in your heart, then here’s the sequel.
