Local Natives has been particularly quiet of late and while it isn’t always a bad thing for a buzz band to take some time off to avoid the sophomore slump, it certainly is when that band had the 51st best album of 2010. Luckily, the LA-based crew emerged from the abyss last night to perform “Wide Eyes”, aka Gorilla Manor‘s third single, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Local Natives played to their strengths with clean guitar sounds and fantastically crisp vocals, and the intense percussion that the group has become known for was only outdone by the their facial hair. Perhaps @Questlove said it best in tweet form: “love @localnatives.”
