He showed us that Hasidic Jews could skank with the best of them on his debut (2005s Live At Stubbs) so it only makes sense that Matisyahu would someday return to where it all began Unlike 2009s Live at Twist & Shout, the 31-year-olds latest release finds him back in Austin and sweating it out for nearly 2000 adoring fans in the sweltering Texas heat.
We teased you with a mere trailer from the releases accompanying DVD in December, but now our new video channel Cluster 1 has exclusive videos of Matisyahu (AKA Matthew Paul Miller) performing both One Day and King Without A Crown at the same barbeque joint that pretty much launched his career.
His stage show has always been captivating, but its interesting to see how the performances have evolved over the past half-decade. He seems even more comfortable onstage; what’s more, watching his fans recite every word of his songs that now pull from a discography that boasts a trifecta of both live and studio LPs is pretty cool, too.
Head over to Cluster 1 now to check it all out, and, if you like what you see, then you can pre-order Live at Stubbs Vol. II (and each type of deluxe package) here.
