YACHT‘s last album was the mildly goofy, largely awesome See Mystery Lights (hear it for yourself). The Portland, Oregon duo’s next record is yet to be given a title, let alone a release date, but they just can’t wait any longer to share the new tunes. That’s why they’ll hit the road in April for 24 shows throughout the US and Canada to preview the upcoming release.
Things will crack off in San Francisco on the 13th, just prior to a Coachella appearance two days later. Texas gets shown a lot of love (three dates) before YACHT indoctrinates Atlanta, DC, Boston, Toronto, and pretty much every other major North American city. Helping to fill-out the sound of the new tracks will be the group’s live backing band The Straight Gaze, consisting of Rob “Bobby Birdman” Kieswetter, Jeffery “Jerusalem” Brodsky, and new addition Katy Davidson. Each member of The Straight Gaze has their own music coming out this year, and Jeffrey Jerusalem is set to play some after-parties following select YACHT performances.
