Big Sean has spent his young career in the shadow of his boss Mr. Kanye West, and the words Finally Famous, the title of his series of mixtapes, could be described as an exaggeration. That may change when the rapper releases the album version this spring, his full-length debut.
According to Billboard, Finally Famous: The Album arrives this March on West’s G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam. The first single from the album, the Chris Brown-featuring, No ID-produced track “My Last”, debuted on Big Sean’s Facebook yesterday (you can also stream it below).
In a statement, Big Sean said, “I remember in the eighth grade I told myself, man I’m going to be signed to Def Jam.” He continued, “I always put it out into the universe and I think it was written for me. I was meant to inspire people, I was meant to make music. There’s been so many nights where instead of going out I’ve had to work and was depressed so I feel like I deserve this. This is what I was meant to do.”
