Ever since Neil Young‘s Bridge School Benefit featured the first performance in 42 years from a not-so-little band called Buffalo Springfield, the Internet has been aflame with rumors of a full-fledged reunion tour. Now, a fall tour looks to be almost definite, according to band friend David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
“I think it was a very pleasant experience for Neil and Stephen [Stills] both. I know they’re going to go out for at least some dates in the fall. Personally, I’d like to go watch. They’re one of my favorite bands,” Crosby said to Rolling Stone. “And I’ve got to tell you, I didn’t get to see them live, but I watched clips and Richie [Furay]- I got to tell you man, he is so happy onstage and is such a joyful energy.”
Furay’s manager remained ambiguous, only saying, “There certainly are discussions to that effect.”
While the chances of a tour seem better and better, don’t expect a new Buffalo Springfield record. “I doubt it,” Crosby said. “I don’t think they have the material. But then again, Neil can write five songs in one week, damn him. I wish I could. Anything’s possible. I know all three of those guys are still writing, so you can say anything.”
No tour dates have been announced nor has there been any type of confirmation from any Buffalo Springfield members. But as soon as we know something more, so will you. In the meantime, check out footage from their Bridge School Benefit reunion below.
