As writer Tony Hardy wrote last week, “Delmar and the Dedications have a highly charged, trebly, toppy sound with lots of fuzz on the vocals and a love for cymbals with everything.” Apt summation. Odds are you probably haven’t heard of this hot Chicago act, but that’s okay. You can now. The video for “So Through” edits plenty of old, grimy stock footage from way before our time; though, they all fit the band’s punchy vintage sound. Sure, everyone’s going for the ol’ 45 sound these days, but trust us, Delmar takes it to a different place…and also just knows how to write a solid tune. You’ll want to keep an ear on these folks – maybe two.
