Jon Hopkins announces 2011 tour dates

Britain’s electronic maestro Jon Hopkins sure likes to keep his creative juices flowing. If he’s not scoring monster movies, playing festivals, or remixing artistic icons like David Lynch, he’s plotting tours. On top of releasing his remix of Lynch’s “I Know”, Hopkins has just revealed a string of North American dates as support for Röyksopp.

The brisk tour blows swiftly through 10 March dates with very little distribution. Things kick off on the 18th in Toronto, followed by Montreal, two New York dates, DC, Atlanta, Miami (for Ultra Music Festival), and three consecutive nights in Cali. That’s not a whole lot of opportunities to catch him, but keep in mind you’d also be seeing the Norwegian duo of Röyksopp. Might be worth the trip.

But, maybe you need another taste of Hopkins’ skills before you decide. Well, we’ve got you covered; scroll down to click ‘play’ on “I Know”, the David Lynch track newly envisioned for his January 31st remix EP. The track is trippy, ominous, and Hopkins seems totally comfortable working with Lynch’s dusty, sneering vocals.

Check out all the juicy bits bellow. Also, keep an eye out for news on a forthcoming solo album and a collaboration with King Creosote. Oh press releases, how you tease us.
