For certain Coachella fans who were guessing and/or hoping drummer Nathan Followill’s surgery would lead to a cancellation and replacement headliner, this news is a bit of a bore. According to a press release, the surgery on Followill’s torn right labrum and bicep will not affect Kings of Leon‘s gig headlining Friday night at Coachella.
In fact, just to be sure, the band has added three dates in the week leading up to the southern California festival. The Friday before Coachella, Kings of Leon will be in Tulsa, followed by a Saturday night gig in the band’s home state of Tennessee. Kings of Leon have also added an April 12th gig in Austin. All three of these dates will be on sale Saturday, February 12th at 10 a.m., so be sure to visit the band’s page on Seatgeek when the time comes.
Speculation arose after Kings of Leon postponed their Australia and South Africa dates until this fall, without mention of Coachella or the summer European tour. The band’s full itinerary as it now stands, excluding the postponed dates, is below.
