Last Night: Deerhunter jam out to “Memory Boy” on Letterman

The four piece pysch-dreamers Deerhunter became a sextet on Letterman last night, temporarily adding to their lineup Cole Alexander from Black Lips and Adam Bruneau from The Back Pockets on the guitar and keys, respectively. The six ATLiens charged into “Memory Boy” from last year’s masterpiece Halcyon Digest and augmented the brief song by inserting an accelerando interlude utilizing the two ringers’ talents and amping up the song. It’s not often you get to say “Deerhunter rocked!”, but it’s more appropriate here than ever before.

Deerhunter will be playing a set in Austin at South by Southwest next month, and then set out on a European tour. Check out all the dates for the tour on the band’s MySpace.
