Travis Barker is sure as hell making the most of his new lease on life. Since he barely survived the 2008 plane crash that nearly took his and DJ AMs life, the 35-year-old best (known for his role as Blink 182s drummer) has reunited with his old band, collaborated with a laundry list of other artists, remixed Jay-Z and Kanye, and is set to release his own solo album Give The Drummer Some on March 15th (via Interscope).
The album will feature Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and a host of others, but last night Barker took to the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the title track for a live studio audience. In tow were Mix Master Mike, Swizz Beats, and fellow Los-Angelino, The Game. While its safe to say that there have been a lot of rap-rock collaboration that dont live up the expectations (Blakroc anyone?), this performance isnt all that bad. The three-and-half minute gig has the feel of a crunk backyard barbeque (Swizz Beats even walks into the crowd), name drops Raekwon and the the Ruff Ryders, and features Barker flailing around like a madman. The boy should make an exercise tape because this is obviously how he stays so skinny.
Check it all out (thanks to Some Kind Of Awesome) above, and if you like what you hear, then pre-order the album on Amazon.com.
