Let’s be honest. It’s going to be hard to outdo Odd Future blowing up their spot two weeks ago on Jimmy Fallon. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t let other artists try! And in fact, they made a valiant effort, coming out in full form. Deerhunter brought another solid late night performance from their untouchable Halcyon Digest, Destroyer made his network television debut, Adele showed a more mature side of herself, Chromeo did what they do best, and last, but certainly not least, Bright Eyes brought the first televised performance of a track off their latest effort, The People’s Key, and if this were a contest, Bright Eyes would’ve taken home the gold. If you watch nothing else from last week, please watch Conor Oberst and co. play “Jejune Stars” note for note on Letterman.
Another week, another chance to beat OFWGKTA. And if it’s going to be done, it’ll be done by somebody playing Jimmy Fallon‘s week. Probably not Motorhead, but one of the others slated to perform. Lykke Li will be bringing a taste from her latest Wounded Rhymes, Lupe Fiasco (who’s been known to host some very illustrious guests as of late), and Glasser will be making her network television debut. Other performers on other late night shows include Cake, Michael Franti (2x), Travis Barker, and a performance by the Broadway cast of Bono’s Spiderman Extravaganza, or whatever it’s really called.
