While we already know that This Is Happening will be the last LP from dance-punk mainstays LCD Soundsystem, we now have the exact time and location for when James Murphy and company will play their last show under the LCD Soundystem moniker. Per Brooklyn Vegan, the band will bring their high-energy stage show to Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011 with Liquid Liquid and special guests. According to a statement from the band, “for just one more night, we will be playing with friends and family for nearly 3 hours– playing stuff we’ve never played before.” The band also request that fans either wear black, white, or black and white. General onsale tickets are available beginning February 11th.
Update: An issued press release notes that LCD will play a career spanning set featuring selections from all three of their albums, as well as the Nike commissioned 45:33. The band also promises a “choir, string and horn sections plus contributions and collaborations from both one-time-only special guests and many of the musicians with whom the band has worked over the years.” Sounds amazing.
