What is it with the elder statesman of indie rock and having schedules of men half their age? First, Wayne Coyne and The Flaming Lips were readying some reissues and a collaboration with young padawans Neon Indian, and now Nick Cave is showing his continued vitality by readying his own collabo with UNKLE and a batch of reissues from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (via TwentyFourBit). Turns out being weird is like shotgunning water from the Fountain of Youth.
In a recent announcement on their official site, UNKLE announced their new EP, Only The Lonely, would hit stores on April 4th. Along with appearances by Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss and former Sleepy Sun singer Rachel Fannan, Cave would front the band on the track “Money and Run”. The EP will serve as a warm-up of sorts, with the re-release of last year’s Where Did The Night Fall – Another Night Out following a week later.
As for Cave’s baby, the Bad Seeds will see four of their albums receive the reissue treatment: 1994’s Let Love In, 1996’s Murder Ballads, 1997’s The Boatman’s Call, and 2001’s No More Shall We Part. Each release will be shipped as a double-disc “Collectors Editions” and will feature the remastered CD and a bonus DVD featuring a 5.1 Surround Sound mix. Along with that, fans can then download four to five new bonus tracks, music videos, and another segment of the band-sanctioned documentary Do You Love Me Like I Love You, which you can watch 13 minutes of here.
