To say Ozzy Osbourne has always been a character is a bit of an understatement. After pioneering heavy metal with Black Sabbath, the “Prince of Darkness” galvanized his legacy in the early ’80s when he developed a craving for winged-animals. Then in 2002, The Osbournes offered a glimpse into the less maniacal, more family friendly side of Osbourne, but few would have guessed the rocker’s next adventure: the voice behind a cute, little lawn fawn.
Currently touring with Slash, Osbourne has made time to plug his newest big screen work, Gnomeo & Juliet. Produced by Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, the 3D animated Romeo and Juliet remake was directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron), and includes the voices of James McAvoy (Gnomeo), Emily Blunt (Juliet), Ashley Jensen (Nanette), Michael Caine (Lord Redbrick), and Hulk Hogan (Terrafirmenator). The behind-the-scenes clip above introduces Ozzy’s Fawn, as well as the rest of the cast.
Gnomeo & Juliet will be released nationwide February 11, 2011. Not sold on attending quite yet? The soundtrack includes tracks by Elton John, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Nelly Furtado, and Kiki Dee. Nothing like hoards of kids, an animated Osbourne, and Miley Cyrus!
