Back in November of last year, we announced that Queen would be celebrating their 40th anniversary by reissuing all 15 of their studio albums. Whether you’ve been saving your money since or scrambling it together now, be ready to fork a third of it over: the band’s first five albums — 1973’s self-titled debut, 1974’s Queen 2, 1975’s A Night at the Opera, 1976’s A Day at the Races, and 1977’s News of the World – are being reissued on March 14th through Island Records.
Each album will have a standard version and a deluxe version, depending on how much you want to drop on it. Both, of course, have re-mastered sound, but the two-disc deluxe editions carry the extra 27 bonus tracks, spread out among the five CD sets. We’re talking demos, B-sides, live versions, you name it. In addition to that, the deluxe albums will be made available on iTunes with “additional sleeve notes, unseen pictures and videos.” The tracklists for all five reissues are posted below.
There’s no word yet on the release dates for the remaining albums, but we’re pretty sure these five will keep you busy in the meantime.
