As far as Seattle-based ambient and avant hip hop collectives go, Shabazz Palaces has that market cornered. Now under the aegis of Sub Pop Records, MC Palaceer Lazaro (aka The Palaceer, aka Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler who was led the Digable Planets for a while), drops the first taste from his forthcoming debut LP, Black Up. “An Echo From the Hosts that Profess Infinitum” is the full and complete name of the track, and does its job as a stream of conscious aural description of the track. The otherworldly groove is yours for the price of an email below. Worth it.
