It seems like 2011 is shaping up to be the year of anniversaries for U.S festivals. Not only are Bonnaroo and Sasquatch both turning ten, but Lollapalooza is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary. In a quick promo video, Perry Farrell discusses where the name came from and how the music scene changed just in time for the festival to be successful. If you look closely, you can catch quick cameos from past performers such as Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Pixies, and Daft Punk.
Lollapalooza recently redesigned its official website to commemorate the occasion with a 20-year time capsule, containing a timeline, photos, audio, and video. It can be viewed here.
