Paul Simon is already slated to headline this year’s Hangout Festival, but with his new Phil Ramone-produced record, So Beautiful or So What, set for an April release, the music legend has expanded his upcoming itinerary to a full scale tour.
According to an issued press release, Simon will showcase material of past and present, drawing from his iconic back catalogue and his forthcoming release. Theres also the promise of several songs that havent been performed live in many years. New, old, and rare? Thats a ticket worth paying for.
The tour kicks off on April 15th in Seattle, WA. From there its two nights in L.A., Oakland, Toronto, two New York dates, Chicago, and Mashantucket, CT (say what? Oh, its at a casino…) before finishing up in Boston. Most of the tickets go onsale through Ticketmaster starting March 11th, though select dates go up on the 12th or 13th. You can check Simons website for more specifics.
While we have you, be sure to mark your calendars, as Simon will stop by Jimmy Fallons Late Night on NBC — for two consecutive nights, no less — come April 6th and 7th. Who knows? He might even play with The Roots. Fallon always manages to make the unbelievable a reality. But, we’ll see.
So Beautiful or So What surfaces April 12th (via Hear Music/Concord Music Group).
