Record Store Day 2011 is a day that keeps getting better, more expensive, and utterly overwhelming. Along with all the releases listed on that .pdf, this year’s holiday will also feature exclusive offerings from the likes of Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Beck, and Bat for Lashes.
While conspiracy theorists still believe digitial codes and newspaper editions will eventually lead to more music from Radiohead, the band’s unofficial website, At Ease, reports that fans have a fix set for April 16th. The Thom Yorke-led outfit will be releasing a 12″ vinyl featuring two previously unreleased songs, “The Butcher” and “Supercollider”. As of press time, the band’s representation has yet to confirm the release, but At Ease reports the release may be limited to 2,000 copies. Update: According to Record Store Day’s Twitter, the release is limited to the U.K.
As for what else to look forward to, the Beastie Boys will release a limited-edition 7″ of “Make Some Noise”, the lead single off their forthcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 (stream a 30-second sample here). Backed by a Passion Pit remix, the single will be limited to just 500 copies, according to NME. Also, Beck and Bat for Lashes will re-release their collaboration, “Let’s Get Lost”, which was originally released on the Twilight film soundtrack. Like the Beastie Boys, the 7″ single will be limited to 500 copies, with a previously-unreleased Bat For Lashes demo entitled “Dark Time”.
If that weren’t enough, Clash Music reports that Sigur Rós’ Jónsi will release a 12″ entitled Go Out EP featuring a collection of remixes from klive, WLD PTCH, and Fuck Buttons.
