Everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure in high school is back: UK glam-rock outfit The Darkness will reunite for their first live performance since 2006 at this summer’s Download Festival. Featuring brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins alongside Ed Graham and Frankie Poullain (who replaced Richie Edwards), the band released two studio albums during the first-half of the 20th century, including their chart-topping debut Permission to Land. However, Justin’s battle with addiction lead to the band’s eventual break-up in 2006; Justin would go on to front Hot Leg, while his brother and Graham formed Stone Gods.
At this year’s Download, The Darkness will play alongside the likes of System of a Down, Def Leppard, Pendulum, Linkin Park, The Gaslight Anthem, Clutch, Danzig, and Rob Zombie, among others. The festival, which takes place at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England, runs June 10-12.
Three-day passes start at £170 and are now available via seetickets.com.
